Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited perfusion program.
• Certification-eligible by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• Current CPR/BCLS and universal precautions knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Staff perfusionist works closely with the cardiac surgical team: surgeon, anesthesiologist, surgical technician and circulating nurse.
• Report to the Director of USC Perfusion Services and ensure patient safety during procedures.
• Manage heart-lung machine systems, autotransfusion devices and point-of-care devices.
• Ensure compliance with USC policies, procedures and infection control guidelines.
