Job summary

Firestone Complete Auto Care in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Automotive Technician to perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repair services on various vehicles. The role is full-time and on-site, including oil changes, tire rotation/balancing, brake services, and suspension work to ensure safety and performance.

You will follow repair procedures, keep a clean workspace, and communicate effectively with service advisors while documenting work and upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, with the ability to follow established service procedures.
• Proficiency in performing Oil Changes and basic automotive services accurately and efficiently.
• Experience in Automotive Repair, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
• Knowledge of Suspension systems and related components to diagnose and repair handling or ride issues.
• Relevant certifications or training in automotive technology (e.g., ASE or manufacturer-specific) are beneficial.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools safely, with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as an automotive technician or in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repair services.
• Complete oil changes, rotate and balance tires, perform brake services, and work on suspension components.
• Follow standardized repair procedures, maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Communicate clearly with service advisors, document work performed, and uphold company standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
