Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our Operations team on-site at multiple VA locations including Richmond, Culpeper, Herndon and Manassas. This full-time role coordinates safety, schedule, quality, and on-site leadership to drive project progress.

You will read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, enforce OSHA standards, mentor field crews, and collaborate with office and field teams to meet project goals and manage risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction/engineering-related field or 3+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute contract requirements and support safety, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Exemplify commitment to safety and enforce OSHA and company policies.
• Oversee on-site workforces, coordinating daily scope, sequencing, and inspection.
• Assign responsibilities and collaborate with office and field teams to support goals and manage risk.
• Manage project site logistics and organize on-site activities to maintain workflow.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to associates, supporting growth and team development.
• Read and interpret construction design documents and specifications.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
