Job summary

Homeland Language Services in Washington DC is seeking American Sign Language interpreters to join an international team and help the community. This on-site role requires at least 1 year of interpreting experience and English/ASL proficiency.

Assignments span a few months with potential for longer collaboration. Flexible scheduling and a 1099/W-8BEN contract allow you to choose when you work, with opportunities across diverse settings and casual onboarding.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of interpreting experience desirable.
• Fluency in English and ASL interpreting at a professional level.
• Certifications in ASL interpreting are desirable (K-12, NIC, CI, EIC).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in varied work-related scenarios.
• Provide intercultural mediation to ensure clear and effective communication.
• Maintain patient privacy and safety and support teamwork in delivering language services.
