Job summary

DLR Planning, LLC is seeking two Asbestos Abatement Coordinators to provide technical support and coordination for asbestos and lead-related issues in construction and maintenance projects. This on-site, long-term role requires Southern California residency and focuses on compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include site assessments, abatement design, reviewing Phase reports, supervising abatement methods, and using Maximo to manage progress and labor costs.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time construction experience on projects involving environmental (asbestos/lead) assessment, sampling, design, monitoring and abatement.
• Graduates with a related field may compensate with additional years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintains open communication with central and regional Facilities teams to provide technical support on asbestos and lead issues.
• Prepares site assessments (Phase 1) and abatement design (Phase 2) for asbestos/lead materials in construction projects.
• Reviews environmental consultants Phase 1–3 reports for accuracy.
• Surveys sites to recommend abatement methods for asbestos and lead-containing materials.
• Prepares job estimates for project assessment, design and monitoring.
• Plans repair, removal, disposal or encapsulation of asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint.
• Conducts environmental project monitoring to ensure compliance with laws and safety standards.
• Uses Maximo to plan and track job progress and report labor charges.
