Job summary

VY Systems seeks an experienced APIGEE Lead Developer for an on-site contract role in Charlotte, NC. You will own software development, architecture, and integration, focusing on Apigee API management, API proxies, OAuth2/OIDC security, and microservices mesh.

Local residency and 5-day on-site work are required. Responsibilities include building scalable backend components, optimizing distributed data pipelines, and ensuring performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive professional software engineering experience in enterprise tech.
• Hands-on expertise in Apigee API management, API proxy design, OAuth2/OIDC, and microservices integration.
• Strong knowledge of core software design, API development, and distributed data processing.
• Experience with databases, queries, and data persistence frameworks.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder collaboration.
• Mandatory on-site residency and 5-day-a-week on-site C2C operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and distributed components.
• Implement Apigee API management, API proxy design, OAuth2/OIDC, and microservices integration per security/performance standards.
• Integrate backend microservices and data pipelines with RESTful APIs and databases.
• Develop backend logic and interfaces to support complex enterprise workflows.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance bottlenecks, and integration issues across environments.
• Collaborate with solution architects, data scientists, and QA teams; participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
