Job summary

Southwest Research Institute seeks an Assistant Program Manager to oversee multiple avionics/aerospace programs through full lifecycle. The role requires coordinating engineering teams, managing schedules, budgets, EVMS, and CDRLs, and interfacing with customers from the SwRI San Antonio facility.

The candidate will lead bid/proposal efforts, support business development and marketing, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering degree with directly related experience.
5+ years: Avionics and/or aerospace engineering development and/or Program Management experience.
3 years: Experience in avionics, DoD aerospace, and/or aerospace complex electronics/LRU development projects with leadership of engineering teams.
Experience in DOD contract vehicles.
A valid/clear driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

Manage programs related to avionics/aerospace and related test markets.
Lead engineering teams across multiple disciplines to meet schedule, budget, EVMS, CDRLs, and customer expectations.
Present program status to senior management on a monthly basis.
Lead bid and proposal efforts and drive business development and marketing.
Support and lead assigned trade show efforts.
