Boys Town is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. You will prepare reports, reconcile accounts, analyze transactions, and assist with month-end and year-end close, collaborating with internal departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting/financial analysis experience.
• Proficiency with GAAP and MS Excel; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate general ledger accounts.
• Prepares and posts journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
• Manages youth services purchasing card administration and reconciliations.
• Verifies supplier requisitions and purchase orders are entered accurately and timely.
• Reviews expenses for accuracy, proper coding, and policy compliance.
• Monitors department spending against approved budgets and investigates overages.
• Oversees the daily operations of the banking center.
• Reconciles vault and petty cash for assigned business departments.
• Oversees youth services lease agreements, tracking terms and payments.
• Assists with data for cost reimbursable contracts; maintains AR reconciliation schedules.
• Assists with requests from auditors; ensures GAAP compliance.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and internal controls.
