Job summary

Weissman is seeking a Freelance Photo Assistant to support our photography team in Saint Louis, MO during on-figure and off-figure shoots. Typical hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with bookings on an as-needed basis.

You will help set up lights, assist photographers, and ensure shots are executed precisely. The ideal candidate has hands-on studio experience, strong camera knowledge (Canon R5/5D4), and a collaborative attitude.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior photo assisting experience in a commercial or studio setting.
• Strong knowledge of studio lighting and photography techniques.
• Experience working with child models ages 3–16.

Responsibilities

• Support photographers on set with lighting adjustments, set prep, and equipment handling.
• Assist with load-in, load-out, and troubleshooting gear during shoots.
• Apply strong knowledge of photography and lighting to enhance image quality.
• Communicate effectively with photographers, art directors, and clients on set.
• Operate Capture One on Mac and manage image flow when needed.
