Job summary

South College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Anatomy & Physiology to students in nursing, respiratory therapy, radiography, and allied health programs. Courses are delivered on-ground at the Knoxville/Lonas Campus in Knoxville, TN.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, student engagement, and alignment with program curricula. The candidate should have a Master’s degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or a closely related field, with prior college teaching and/or clinical experience

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology or closely related field (terminal degree preferred).
• Prior college teaching experience and/or clinical experience in the discipline preferred.
• Licensure/certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth understanding of human body structure and function.
• Teach courses covering topics from organ systems to basic chemistry and cells.
• Guide students through integration of systems in health and disease with hands-on lab experiences.
• Engage students with interactive learning and real-world applications while supporting progression into healthcare programs.
• Adhere to institutional policies and ensure timely documentation of student learning outcomes.
