Job summary

Petco is seeking a Hospital Leader On Duty to provide excellent veterinary care for our full-service hospital patients and outstanding customer care to their owners. The HLOD will set the tone with technical and support teams, fostering cohesion and motivation within the hospital as part of the Petco Total Care network.

Responsibilities include supervising paraprofessional staff, overseeing hospital operations, and ensuring adherence to Petco policies.

Qualifications

• 1-year experience in veterinary practice preferred.
• Leadership capabilities desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, escort them to exam rooms, take vital signs, and document in EMR.
• Assist doctors with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, collect samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain EMR.
• Monitor telephone lines, schedule appointments, provide client education, and relay test results.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with anesthesia under supervision.
• Train new staff and maintain a clean, organized hospital environment.
