Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineer to develop robust on-device software and automation in a production environment using Python and Typescript. You will test and deploy production code to manufacturing equipment and build automation to reduce operator time.

Collaborating with in-house teams, you will help translate R&D learnings into improved part success and processing performance, while pushing the envelope on equipment capabilities and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, math, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of industry experience building, testing, and shipping production code.
• Experience with industrial machines and scaling a fleet of electromechanical systems.
• Proficient with Python programming.
• Experience with computer vision, drivers, and/or control cabinet buildouts.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust and expandable solutions for on-device software.
• Work on motion planning and machine coordination software in a production code environment consisting of Python and Typescript.
• Test and deploy production code to manufacturing equipment.
• Develop automation solutions to reduce operator time, detect failures, and increase reliability.
• Collaborate with in-house teams to translate R&D learnings into improved part success, geometric capabilities, and processing performance.
• Work cross-functionally to push the envelope of what is possible on the equipment.
