Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino seeks a Software Engineer to build the foundational on-device execution harness and runtime infrastructure for agentic evaluation.

You will design low-level execution harnesses, orchestration tooling, and trace-generation pipelines to support agentic reasoning, tool use, and personal context actions across Apple devices. You will work on high-reliability, multi-OS environments (iOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS) with a focus on determinism, state management, and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong programming proficiency in Swift, C++, or Objective-C.
• Scripting in Python for tooling.
• BS or MS in CS, ML, or equivalent experience.
• Solid CS fundamentals, including processes and local runtimes.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build high-reliability execution harnesses to drive multi-step agentic trajectories on target Apple hardware.
• Implement lightweight event-capture layers to record high-fidelity execution traces.
• Build CLI tools, local automation scripts, and integration hooks for on-device harnesses within local development and testing pipelines.
• Optimize harness performance and resource overhead to keep on-device AI runtime stable and lightweight.
