Job summary

Hamilton City School District is seeking a Native Language Support-On Demand Interpreter at Hamilton High School - Freshman Campus. This part-time, on-demand role supports staff and limited English proficient students and families in translation and interpretation services.

The interpreter will assist in enrollment, screenings, meetings, and communications, while upholding confidentiality and Title III requirements. This position offers flexible, hourly engagement within the school district.

Responsibilities

• Act as native language support/translator for staff and English learners in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Assist in preparing and delivering the education program under supervision of certified staff.
• Supervise students as directed by staff.
• Support language needs for families by phone or email, translating forms into the target language.
• Assist with enrollment and transition processes for buildings and courses.
• Administer screener assessments to measure English language proficiency.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and Title III regulations.
• Use interpreter protocols and communicate respectfully and directly.
• Serve as interpreter during ETR/IEP/504 meetings as needed.
• Act as liaison with district, community, staff, students, and parents; attend events.
• Attend workshops and meetings to maintain professional growth.
• Adhere to HCSD policies as outlined in the handbook.
