Job summary
The Critical Languages Program at The University of Arizona is seeking a Hindi Language Tutor for a part-time, on-demand role based in Tucson, AZ. You will lead and support Hindi practice sessions, reinforce course content, and provide feedback to help students build speaking and listening proficiency.
Responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, offering individual or small-group tutoring, monitoring progress, and collaborating with program staff to align tutoring with course
Qualifications
- Strong tutoring and teaching skills with ability to explain concepts clearly and support diverse learning styles.
- Hindi proficiency at CEFR C1 level and effective English communication.
- Experience with online tutoring and comfort using educational technologies.
- Current full-time enrollment as a UA student in good academic standing with reliable availability.
- Ability to create an inclusive, respectful learning environment and collaborate with faculty, staff, and peers.
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience in language learning contexts is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Hindi language practice sessions for UA students.
- Prepare lesson materials and offer individual or small-group tutoring.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist with basic grading related to practice activities when needed.
- Collaborate with program staff to align tutoring with course objectives.
- Occasional participation in meetings, workshops, or cultural events.
