Job summary

Syracuse University is seeking a Staff Psychologist II for an 11-month full-time role to provide mental health and wellness services to the student population on campus. Responsibilities include short-term therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and supervision of graduate trainees.

As part of the Barnes Center, the psychologist will collaborate with colleagues across the university to promote student well-being, participate in committees, and contribute to outreach programs.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Must be licensed or licensed eligible within the state of New York at the start of employment.
• Experience providing clinical services to culturally diverse populations.
• Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessments.
• Experience with group therapy is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services including individual and group therapy, drop-in, and crisis intervention for Syracuse University students.
• Participate in committees or teams focused on health and wellness, substance abuse, and relationship violence.
• Lead seminars in the Training program and supervise APPIC Predoctoral Interns and graduate trainees.
• Complete clinical documentation and coordinate care with Health and Wellness offices across the university.
• Provide outreach/education on mental health topics and participate in the Counseling Center's on-call rotation.
