Job summary

The Cancer Center at Illinois is hiring up to two Program Coordinators to plan, coordinate, and execute center-level research and education events, and provide administrative support on the UIUC campus.

This 100% full-time Civil Service role offers a salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 and requires in-person work on campus, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed; start date as soon as possible after the close date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of professional work experience in Administrative Assistant and/or Events Planning, Conference Management, Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a professional liaison between organizational units.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan events, with forecasts, timelines, and logistics.
• Coordinate venue selection, catering, and transportation, and liaise with vendors.
• Manage guest lists, registrations, and speaker involvement from invitation to reimbursement.
• Track expenses, manage purchases via Banner/iBuy, and prepare post-event reports.
• Lead debriefings and update event procedures.
