Job summary

Chapman University’s Office of Research is seeking a Pre-Award Research Analyst to join its growing and highly motivated team. The role will coordinate pre-award activities for grants and contracts, assist with proposal and budget development, and guide faculty on sponsor regulations.

This exempt Administrator position is fully on campus in Irvine at our Rinker campus, requiring strong communication and organizational skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in research and sponsored programs administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of CFR, FAR, and 2 CFR 200 requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking proposals from notice of intent to submission.
• Analyze sponsor guidelines to support proposal development.
• Assist PIs with budget preparation for grant proposals.
• Train faculty and staff in Cayuse SP and S2S.
• Ensure forms conform to sponsor and University guidelines.
• Manage grant documentation and reporting.
• Identify grant opportunities and meet with PIs regularly.
• Collaborate with SPS leadership on projects and assignments.
