Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and supervising a group of 8–13 students to support their academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines, medications, transportation to activities, leading devotions and chapel, and budgeting/reporting. The nine-days-on, three-off schedule starts upon hire and placement into a single home over time.

Qualifications

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth.
  • This is a two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
  • Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
  • No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.
  • Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
  • Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
  • Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian chapel services.

Responsibilities

  • Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
  • Managing household routines and student schedules.
  • Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
  • Driving students to activities and planning developmental activities.
  • Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
  • Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
