Job summary

The New School is seeking a student worker to support studios for the BFA & MFA Fine Arts programs at 25 East 13th St. This on-campus role requires a commitment of 5 hours per week for 15 weeks during a Fall or Spring semester. Employees may be eligible for rehire during the following term.

Responsibilities include daily studio monitoring, calendar maintenance, classroom assistance, gallery support, and ensuring studio rules are followed.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in the BFA or MFA Fine Arts program.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Able to follow guidelines for studio monitoring and functioning.
• Able to communicate with faculty, staff and students on campus.

Responsibilities

• Daily studio monitoring for all student studios on the 4th and 5th floors.
• Maintaining installation space reservation calendars for the 4th and 5th floors.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing art studio classrooms.
• Support fellow students in the cleaning and organizing of storage areas on the 4th and 5th floors.
• Ensuring students follow studio rules and best practices protocols.
• Assist with art gallery activities as needed.
