Job summary

Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ invites applications for an adjunct professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. This in-person, on-campus role typically teaches 3–6 credits per semester, with schedules set by department needs and candidate availability.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree or higher in Education or related field and three years of teaching experience; preferred will be university teaching and K–12 experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Education or related field.
• Three (3) years of teaching experience.
• Excellent knowledge of research and teaching practices in teaching content (e.g., literacy, social studies, science, interdisciplinary) in P-12 grades.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3-6 credits during the semester.
• Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions, and assignments in accordance with the curriculum and learning objectives.
• Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and academic success.
• Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student learning outcomes and provide grades in a timely manner.
