Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks full-time Flex Houseparents—a married couple—to provide care, supervision, and mentorship for groups of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. The role emphasizes daily routines, devotions, and active engagement in students’ development.

Compensation includes housing and benefits; couples work a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and may transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Move from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent over time.
