Job summary

The University of Washington (UW) Transportation Services seeks an Intermittent Shuttle Driver to operate wheelchair lift-equipped buses and vans on the Seattle campus. This on-site, on-call role serves students, faculty, staff and visitors, delivering safe, courteous transportation under varied weather and traffic conditions.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, adherence to schedules, excellent customer service, and clear communication with dispatch and other drivers.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience driving 20+ passenger vehicles.
• Valid Washington State Class B Commercial Driver’s License or higher with Passenger Endorsement and air brake restriction removed.
• Experience operating wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Operate 30-foot or larger buses or van variants with wheelchair lifts.
• Provide safe, courteous transportation between campus facilities.
• Adhere to traffic regulations and report incidents immediately.
• Maintain and communicate routes and schedules; assist passengers as needed.
