Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate On-Call Caregiver to provide exceptional support in settings including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes in the Amarillo area. Duties include helping with medications, mobility, personal care, meal prep, and light housekeeping.

The role offers weekend on-call shifts with pay at $16 per hour and benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, PPE, weekly pay, and opportunities for continuing education.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others — a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Good time management and strong interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (appointments, walks).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input when able.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
