Job summary

You will assist field teams, handle on-water sampling, logging, and equipment deployment, while following USCG/OSHA/EPA rules. A valid USCG Captain’s license preferred; WA Boater’s Card considered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • USCG Captain’s license or WA boating credentials preferred.
  • Experience operating vessels in marine or inland waters.
  • HAZWOPER certification strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Able to work on-call and irregular hours.

Responsibilities

  • Operate standby vessels to support oil spill response and hazmat cleanup.
  • Maintain vessel readiness: fueling, inspections, maintenance, safety equipment.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs on short notice in challenging conditions.
  • Deploy and tend containment boom with response teams.
  • Transport personnel and equipment to incident sites.
  • Document vessel operations and logs; participate in drills.
