Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking an unarmed security guard for the Old Dominion Job Corps site in Monroe, VA. You will enforce laws, patrol facilities, and respond to incidents to protect people and property in line with Safety and Security policies.

Qualified candidates need a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to pass background and drug screening checks; job offers shift schedules and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer 1 year of experience in a security department, law enforcement agency, or experience with security duties.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• The Unarmed Guard is responsible for enforcing all laws, rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.
• Enforces all authorized laws, rules, and regulations.
• Performs alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
• Provide vehicle transportation support function under direction of supervisor in compliance with government, corporate and management directives.
• Aids and assists visitors, students, and staff.
• Performs building security and safety checks.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Range: $17.20

Schedule: 3pm-12am or 11:30pm-8:30am

On-Call position up to 29 hours/week
