Danner’s Incorporated is looking for dependable, safety-minded Freight Drivers to join our Freight Division.

As a Freight Driver, you will play an important role in keeping cargo moving throughout maritime, port, airport, warehouse, and related transportation environments. You will be responsible for safely picking up and delivering freight, handling cargo, completing required documentation, inspecting your assigned vehicle, and maintaining consistent communication with Dispatch.

This is not a typical driving position. Our drivers work in busy ports, airports, docks, terminals, and other high-traffic environments where safety, awareness, professionalism, and attention to detail matter every day.

You will represent Danner’s at every location you visit, working directly with customers, maritime and aviation personnel, Dispatch, and other members of our operations team.

What You'll Do
Safe Driving and Transportation
  • Operate Danner’s company vehicles safely and professionally in ports, airports, terminals, warehouses, and other high-traffic environments.
  • Safely maneuver trailers and freight through confined, congested, or challenging areas.
  • Complete assigned freight pickups and deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Follow all applicable maritime, port, airport, roadway, and company safety regulations.
  • Practice safe driving at all times, including during nighttime operations and inclement weather.
  • Adjust to changing routes, schedules, traffic conditions, and operational requirements.
Cargo Handling and Documentation
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required.
  • Perform moderate manual labor associated with loading, unloading, and securing freight.
  • Verify cargo against shipping and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Complete all required transportation, shipping, receiving, and delivery documentation.
  • Maintain proper chain-of-custody procedures when applicable.
  • Identify and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or otherwise discrepant cargo to Dispatch or management.
  • Ensure required paperwork is completed accurately and submitted according to company procedures.
Vehicle Inspections and Equipment Care
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure assigned vehicles and equipment remain clean, safe, and serviceable.
  • Identify and immediately report mechanical problems, safety concerns, or equipment issues to Fleet & Facilities.
  • Follow all company requirements regarding vehicle and equipment use.
Communication and Customer Service
  • Maintain frequent communication with Dispatch regarding job status, delays, route issues, special instructions, and other operational concerns.
  • Provide timely updates when circumstances may affect a pickup or delivery.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and personnel at pickup and delivery locations.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional attitude regardless of the situation.
  • Represent Danner’s with integrity, respect, and professionalism at every location.
24/7 Operational Support

  • Be prepared to work changing schedules and assignments based on operational needs.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Respond professionally and promptly when contacted regarding an assignment or schedule change.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and reporting requirements.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for drivers who understand that reliability, safety, communication, and accountability are just as important as driving ability.

The right candidate will take ownership of the job from the moment they receive an assignment until the freight has been safely delivered and all required documentation has been completed.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 24 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid TWIC Card.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with availability for days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to proficiently speak, read, and write English.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles in busy ports, airports, terminals, and other challenging environments.
  • Ability to use basic technology, including smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, and company software.
  • Ability to utilize technology to complete training, conduct vehicle inspections, track assignments, communicate with Dispatch, and complete daily job responsibilities.
  • Ability to respond professionally and promptly to changing schedules, assignments, and operational requirements.
  • Strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
  • Pride in your work and commitment to doing the job correctly.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support the growth and success of the company.
  • Must successfully meet Danner’s requirements for background screening, MVR review, health screening, and drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of recent professional driving experience in transportation, logistics, maritime, port, airport, or a related industry preferred.
  • Previous experience working in ports, terminals, warehouses, airports, or maritime environments preferred.
  • Experience handling freight or operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment is a plus.
