Qualifications

Summary

Looking for someone to work an average of 10-20 hours per week covering various shifts during our open hours. Prefer availability on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, no weekends!

Demonstrate expertise in conducting financial transactions between customers and the Bank, handling routine customer inquiries and problems, and maintaining favorable customer/employee relations by performing the following duties. Responsible to support the bank’s strategic objectives by performing duties to the highest of standards set forth by management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Achievement and follow through of CUSB BANK’s sales culture through its checking product ideals, foundations, and program. This includes but is not limited to the ability to complete checking account sales process for both retail and business checking products, tell a friend coupon program, cross selling of CUSB BANK products as determined by strategic plan, complete product knowledge, show enthusiasm, greet all customers with a smile, call the customer by name, use eye contact, help our customers understand new bank products and services, maintain positive attitude toward HPC program and co-workers.
  2. Achievement and follow through of CUSB Bank’s Work Smarter Not Harder (WSNH) initiative in improving CUSB Bank’s processes by eliminating non-value added activities; creating a more efficient and effective work environment. This includes but not limited to participation in process launches, current state and future state mapping, and follow through on detailed assigned action steps for implementation. Maintain a positive attitude towards the WSNH initiative and leadership.
  3. Teamwork and empathy are to be demonstrated towards co-workers and CUSB Bank strategic initiatives. Employees are expected and will be held accountable to follow the CUSB Bank Employee Standards as outlined in the CUSB Employee Handbook; including but not limited to the CUSB 5 Pillars of Communication, Trust, Collective Responsibility, Caring and Pride.
  4. Demonstrate CUSB Bank’s customer service procedures to ensure they are met to the highest standard consistently.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of Teller Capture, coin machines and money counter, ticket processing, transaction procedures and customer service techniques as illustrated by the Manager or designated trainer.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge in receiving and processing checking and savings transactions; mortgage and retail loan payments; and Mastercard/VISA transactions. Note and verify significant information as required by Bank policy and procedures. Follow Bank procedures when performing transactions on Teller Capture and other equipment as required.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge to answer routine questions regarding Bank transactions services and procedures while maintaining good customer relations at all times. Exercise discretion, judgment and initiative regarding transaction problems and inquiries. Demonstrate knowledge to discuss routine problems pertaining to savings and checking transactions or Bank services. Be able to direct customer to appropriate employees for answers to special or complex problems and inquiries. Refer difficult problems to Manager.
  8. Demonstrate knowledge of acceptable cash drawer limits as stated in Bank policy. Maintain adequate working funds. Verify and balance assigned cash drawer daily with an acceptable level of cash variances keeping balance below the maximum level.
  9. Demonstrate knowledge to successfully use the RBG 100 Cash Recycler while being within the acceptable drawer limits established. Understand and develop knowledge to maintain the RBG 100 Cash Recycler
  10. Demonstrate knowledge to total and balance all checks, deposit/withdrawal slips, cash tickets, and other records of Bank transactions according to established procedures; locate and reconcile any transaction errors, including those referred to them because of their complexity or difficulty, with appropriate personnel.
  11. Demonstrate knowledge in the issuance and payments of gift cards, cashier’s checks, money order and savings bonds redemptions.
  12. Demonstrate knowledge to open night vault and process incoming mail transactions; logging the contents in log book, distributing the contents to proper individuals and processing all deposits and other transactions using dual control at all times per bank procedures.
  13. Demonstrate knowledge to purchase working money supply from Vault Teller as needed.
  14. Demonstrate knowledge to assist customers with entry to their safe deposit box, ensuring all bank procedures are followed in the process.
  15. Demonstrate knowledge to balance ATM, replenish cash supply and ensure the ATM is in working order.
  16. Demonstrate knowledge to count, wrap and bag coins.
  17. Demonstrate knowledge to receive and answer telephone inquiries from customers and internal staff regarding customer and bank related accounts. Assist Bank personnel with questions on the status of accounts, bank statements, charges, interest, etc., in an efficient, courteous manner providing positive employee relations.
  18. Demonstrate knowledge to maintain confidentiality of customer account information. Follow established policies and procedures in responding to inquiries and requests.
  19. Demonstrate knowledge to identify customers' financial services needs and cross-sell services to meet those needs. Advise customers on promotional items and services. Demonstrate knowledge of Bank products and services.
  20. Demonstrate support and utilization of various technology products and services at CUSB BANK including but not limited to the use of Synergy and CallTrax products.

Non-Essential Functions:

  1. Work as a Teller at any given location as may be required.
  2. Assist in the development of manuals and supporting documentation to accomplish tasks/duties inherent in this position
  3. Learn other duties in order to facilitate day-to-day operations of other personnel in the department.
  4. Position may request some overnight travel to attend various training or educational programs. Position may require the ability to work before and/or after normal business hours.
  5. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications/Know-How

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to operate the following equipment: PC and printer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machines.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Demonstrate math skills as required to this position which includes adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.

Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.

Key Contacts

Daily contact with other tellers.

Moderate contact with other bank departments regarding customer transactions or bank services.

Frequent contact with bank customers, their personal representatives, accountants, attorneys, etc., regarding transactions and in responding to inquiries as part of the customer service function.
