Job summary

Providence Newberg Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician First Assistant for OB Acute on an on-call, variable shift with rotating weekends. The role supports the surgeon by assisting with procedures, preparing instruments, and maintaining sterile technique.

The ideal candidate will hold certification as a Surgical First Assistant or Surgical Technologist and BLS, with 2 years of experience as a First Assistant.

Qualifications

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Upon hire: National Certified Surgical First Assistant - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, Or
• Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 2 years of Experience as a First Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical tasks as requested.
• Set up, preparation and use of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field and apply infection control principles.
• Comply with hospital and department policies and procedures, standards and mission statements.
