Job summary

Making Opportunity Count seeks a Substitute to cover for teachers when unavailable, supervising students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias. The role involves varied schedules across Leominster, Clinton, Fitchburg, Gardner, Winchendon, Athol in Massachusetts.

The substitute must adapt to caring for children, manage participation, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with staff. Health/safety clearances and CORI screening are required.

Qualifications

• Fulfillment of all specified health and safety clearance requirements (physical, Monteux, MMR)
• Pass a CORI screening
• Willingness to be available on an "on call" basis
• Appreciation for various ethnic groups

Responsibilities

• Adaptability for caring for children
• Manage classrooms effectively to student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work with other adults and with children
• Have a willingness to learn new ways to work with and guide young children
