Job summary

Children’s Day School in San Francisco is seeking dynamic On-Call Substitute Teachers to support our Lower School (Kindergarten–4th Grade). Substitutes provide consistent learning by stepping into homeroom instruction across subjects and specialist programs, ensuring seamless days for students under the guidance of our full-time substitute teacher.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (preferred), teaching experience in California, and ideally a credential or working toward one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Replace homeroom instruction across subjects as needed.
• Support specialist programming (Art, PE, Music, Farm & Garden, Spanish).
• Run small groups and conference with students on learning goals.
• Provide inclusive learning experiences and maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Assist with recess and lunch supervision as needed.
