Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Alabama Substitute Teacher Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in a classroom setting or with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different classrooms and grade levels.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructional activities based on lesson plans provided by the absent teacher.
• Provide clear instructions and engage students in the learning process.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain a disciplined and structured classroom environment.
• Enforce school policies and procedures and ensure student safety.
• Supervise students during class, breaks, and activities.
• Take daily attendance and maintain records; complete required reports.
• Communicate effectively with students, colleagues and administration.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student support.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district and school policies.
