Job summary

SST Northwest in San Antonio, TX seeks an on-call Substitute Teacher to step in for the regular classroom teacher and carry out the duties as assigned by the campus principal or designee. The substitute provides instruction, attendance, and classroom management in the absence of the regular teacher.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree (preferred) and prior experience with students. The position is full-time with on-site expectations and requires the ability to follow lesson plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (preferred)
• Experience working with students (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Performs duties as the regular classroom teacher would.
• Checks the class roll and records attendance as instructed.
• Maintains the routine of the class and follows lesson plans to meet student needs.
• Creates a learning environment conducive to student engagement and discipline.
• Notifies administrators of issues and leaves a summary of work covered.
