Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Substantial Damage Estimator to join the Disaster Recovery Division in New Orleans on an on-call cadre basis. Responsibilities include inspecting disaster-affected structures, documenting damages, and verifying eligibility data. Deployment on short notice and extended hours may be required.

Applicants should have a High School diploma with 6 years of related experience or equivalent, plus a valid US driver’s license. FEMA SDE experience and NFIP knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 6 years related experience or equivalent.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Preferred: FEMA SDE tool experience for data input.
• Preferred: ability to generate detailed FEMA-compliant reports.
• Knowledge of NFIP regs and SFHAs.
• Willing to deploy on short notice and extend hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of disaster-affected structures.
• Document damages with photos, measurements, and notes.
• Verify damages, quantities, and scope for eligibility.
• Coordinate with clients, disaster-affected persons, and contractors.
• Ensure inspections comply with regulations and safety requirements.
• Provide on-site support as needed.
