Job summary

Marion Independent School District seeks an on-call Substitute Van Driver committed to student safety and reliable transportation. You will drive students to school and activities, manage student behavior, and keep a professional, caring demeanor with staff and parents.

Applicants must have a HS diploma or equivalent, 18+, a valid Class D3 license, pass background checks, and comply with district procedures. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Obtain and maintain a valid Class D3 Chauffeur's license.
• Pass pre-employment and driving history checks.
• Pass pre-employment and periodic background history checks.
• Pass substance abuse screening and random tests.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Know Marion and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and events.
• Manage student behavior professionally and calmly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety; report maintenance needs.
• Complete required reports and timecards in a timely manner.
• Adhere to laws, policies, and department procedures.
• Prepare vehicle for student transport in various conditions.
• Assist with loading/unloading and ensure proper restraints.
