Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to use good judgement and make independent decisions; keep detailed records; generate reports using computer technology; perform moderately heavy tasks; follow directions; work under pressure.
• Must be able to drive and maneuver district vehicles; possess a valid California driver license.
• Desirable: food service experience or knowledge of food preparation, sanitation rules; ability to communicate verbally in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food by slicing, baking, desserts, and portioning; package prepared food.
• Serve food during breakfast, lunch and snacks; assist with general kitchen cleanup.
• Operate food service equipment (slicer, mixer, ovens, warmers, etc.).
• Perform cashier duties for students and manage daily deposits.
• Maintain and compile records such as production worksheets and rosters.
• Retrieve information from computer terminals and support inventory.
• Assist in training substitute food service workers and maintain equipment care.
• Possess duties of unit leader in their absence and perform other duties as required.
