Job summary

Affton School District in Saint Louis, Missouri is seeking Substitute Custodians to help maintain safe, clean and comfortable learning environments. These are as-needed, 12-month positions with an irregular schedule and a requirement to substitute at least five times during the school year.

Starting immediately upon hire, the role pays $16.74 per hour with no benefits due to the substitute/temporary status.

Qualifications

• Requires prior cleaning experience, school cleaning experience preferred
• Requires the ability to perform essential functions of the position
• Requires the ability to safely operate all custodial equipment
• Requires the ability to be dependable and punctual
• Requires the ability to read & interpret documents such as operating & maintenance instructions, procedures, safety rules, etc.
• Requires willingness to complete job-related training
• Requires the ability to work independently, use good judgment, and follow written and oral instructions
• Requires the ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment
• Requires the ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community
• Requires the ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population
