Job summary

GDI provides best in class facility maintenance services and supports Detroit Public Schools with an on-call custodial response team. The role involves working at multiple DPS sites as needs arise, reporting to different locations based on daily call-offs and staffing requirements.

This part-time, on-site position requires reliable transportation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Prior cleaning of school facilities is helpful and pre-employment/site access checks apply.

Qualifications

• Attendance is essential
• Experience with cleaning school buildings a plus
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must satisfy applicable pre-employment and site-access requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Timekeeping (punching into and out of work using a phone-based system)

Responsibilities

• Complete work within budgeted time (8 hours)
• Cleaning of a school building
• Refill dispensers, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, hand sanitizer
• Cleaning restrooms, break-rooms, dusting and trash removal
• Sweeping, mopping and vacuum
