Job summary

Lake Elsinore Unified School District is seeking a SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAN to perform routine cleaning and custodial tasks across district sites. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, operating cleaning equipment, and responding to emergencies.

The role supports day and evening shifts on an on-call daily basis, with multiple positions available. Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience in school or institutional setting preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate with students, staff and the public.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform varied tasks.
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull and use cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine janitorial and custodial tasks at assigned sites.
• Keep buildings and surrounding areas neat, clean and safe.
• Clean classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, offices and related facilities.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor machines.
• Respond to emergency cleanups and report maintenance needs.
