Job summary

Chartwells K12 is hiring an on-call Food Service Worker for Stamford Public Schools. The role involves preparing and serving meals, performing prep tasks, and maintaining sanitation throughout the shift.

We offer on-site work with flexible on-call hours and opportunities to gain experience in a school dining program. Training is available, and eligible employees may participate in referral programs.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Preparing food; receiving delivery orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Performs prep work: washing, peeling, cutting, seeding fruits/vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation to ensure safety.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies and utensils.
• Adheres to recipes and portion control for consistent quality.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
