Job summary

Fort Osage TRANSPORTATION in Independence, MO, is seeking a Bus Monitor Substitute for the 26-27 school year. This substitute position supports the bus driver, helps supervise students, and assists in keeping buses safe and clean during transport to and from school and special activities.

Starting immediately, hours are not scheduled; substitutes are used as needed after training. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a commitment to safety and teamwork across a diverse student

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to assist bus driver and supervise students.
• Comfort with school-age children and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and other passengers for safe loading and unloading on buses.
• Monitor student behavior to reinforce safety guidelines.
• Attend training and in-service sessions as needed.
• Prepare written reports on incidents or misconduct.
• Secure students and equipment (seat belts, restraints, wheelchairs) as required.
• Communicate observations and incidents to appropriate staff.
