Job summary

Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw is seeking a substitute bus driver to transport students to and from various school sites and events. The role emphasizes safety, student management, and adherence to schedules.

The position requires a Michigan CDL B with P & S endorsements and a clean driving record. The driver may operate wheelchairs or ambulatory buses and will perform pre/post trip reports, safety checks, and routine documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan CDL B with P & S endorsements.
• Unexpired Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Good safety record and map-reading ability.
• Ability to guide and supervise students with varying needs.
• Capable of calm, quick judgment in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus on schedule to transport students to/from homes, sites, and field trips.
• Oversee loading/unloading; ensure seat belts are fastened and students are released to authorized individuals.
• Maintain order and safety; document disciplinary issues when needed.
• Perform daily safety and mechanical checks; report repairs and ensure bus cleanliness.
• Transports medication, personal items, and messages; handle property safely.
• Maintain records on mileage, routing, maintenance, and time schedules.
