Job summary

Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Solid Waste Site Attendant to oversee operations at county collection sites. The role requires working 7 days a week, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

You will observe deliveries, maintain site cleanliness, open and close sites, manage logs, operate equipment, assist the public, and collect fees. The candidate should follow rules, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with minimal supervision in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Observes deliveries of material to ensure proper placement.
• Cleans and maintains roll-off site areas.
• Opens and closes sites and handles recyclable material.
• Maintains daily logs of incoming equipment.
• Operates stationary equipment.
• Assists public and provides information about solid waste and recycling.
• Assess Class III loads, charges and collects fees, maintains receipts for fees, turns in fees weekly to bookkeeper.
• Practice and enforce safety procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
