Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Registered Nurse for on-call night shifts (7p-7a, Tue-Fri) to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care. The nurse will lead care delivery, delegate tasks where appropriate, and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

The role requires NJ RN licensure, an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred), and 0-1 years’ experience (2-4 preferred). Salary is hourly and reflects experience and market conditions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• NJ RN License is required per policy.
• 0-1 years’ experience required, 2-4 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs an assessment of the patient, leading to development, implementation and evaluation of a plan of care.
• Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions and regimes.
• Participates in clinical decision-making.
• Educates patient and family/responsible party regarding disease process, individual care needs, wellness, safety issues, etc.
• Delegates and monitors care rendered by other members of nursing department and healthcare team.
• Participates in orientation, education and development of healthcare team.
• Identifies and participates in the performance improvement activities.
• Maintains professional and departmental level competencies.
