Job summary

MMS Group is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Technician for a 40-unit residential property in Deridder, LA. The role focuses on maintenance of apartment homes, unit turns, and general upkeep.

Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic carpentry is required, with a valid driver's license and ability to work evenings on call per policy. The responsibilities include regular maintenance, repairs, flooring installation, and managing turnovers.

Qualifications

• Experience: Three+ years of residential multifamily property management/apartment maintenance.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Skill: experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
• License: valid driver’s license
• Certification: HVAC and fire safety
• Tools: Possession of basic tools needed to perform routine maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Regular Maintenance: Maintain residential apartment homes and other areas on the property, including building exteriors, interiors, and public areas, regularly.
• Repairs: Perform small appliance, plumbing, electrical, and other repairs in residential apartments and other areas of the property.
• Installation: Install tile and laminate flooring
• Emergency Response: being on call every evening, responding to emergency calls according to the company's policy on after-hour emergency calls
• Unit Turnover: Manage the turnover of empty apartment units, including repairs (e.g., sheetrock, taping, sanding, painting, and fixing doors, windows, light fixtures, etc.).
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as outlined in the job description.
