Job summary

Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse I to provide direct nursing care to a diverse patient population at Tarzana, CA.

The role includes medication administration, patient education, health maintenance, and assessments to support on-call coverage across shifts. Responsibilities include responding promptly to on-call assignments, documenting care and orders in the EMR, and collaborating with the Nursing Director to ensure quality patient outcomes in behavioral

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Two-year recent acute care experience preferred; behavioral or substance use setting preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver nursing assessments and interventions.
• Complete pre-admission triage and determine admission appropriateness.
• Administer medications and use electronic medication systems.
• Wound assessment and basic care.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Document goals, interventions, and outcomes in the chart.
• Collaborate with the care planning team.
• Respond to medical emergencies.
• Operate nursing equipment needed for patient care (glucose meter, defibrillator, EKG, etc.).
• Attend required trainings and shift handoffs.
• Coordinate with the RN Charge Nurse to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide ordered wound care when required.
• Identify and report issues at admission or by staff.
• Enter notes and transcribe orders in EMR.
• Provide team reports on patient issues and needs.
• Understand and apply nursing ethics in daily work.
• Identify infections and initiate standard precautions.
