Job summary

Plus One, an Optum company, is seeking an on-call Receptionist to support a fitness center in Westlake, TX. The role is part-time with evening coverage, including shifts that close the facility at midnight Monday through Saturday. This on-call position has no guaranteed weekly hours.

You will assist with fitness consultations, program development, and client engagement while maintaining high levels of service and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field or NCCA-accredited certification.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Knowledge of exercise testing and prescription; ability to operate fitness tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations, including movement screens and goal setting to recommend programming.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to motivate participants and ensure a positive experience.
• Monitor and instruct participants on safe use of cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on health information and available wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses via LMS.
• Maintain positive customer experience through high-quality service.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic on-call Receptionist who is passionate about supporting healthy lifestyle habits to work at a high-profile company’s fitness center located in Westlake, TX.

Part-time hours and opportunities for coverage will vary, with the greatest need being evening availability to close our facility at midnight Monday through Saturday. This is an on-call position with no guarantee of weekly hours, and shift opportunities are typically offered in advance of needed coverage.

What you will do:

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations for participants, including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting, in order to recommend appropriate fitness programming and complementary wellness services.
• Develop comprehensive progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants and ensure a positive overall experience.
• Monitor, engage and instruct participants in the fitness center on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment within the facility.
• Educate participants on clinically proven health and fitness information, available fitness and engagement programming and complementary wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses through a learning management platform.
• Maintain positive customer and client experience by providing the highest quality of service.

What we are looking for:

• A bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Industry knowledge in exercise testing (assessments) and exercise prescription (program design), and ability to operate various fitness tools and equipment.
• Ability to network, engage and interact with all clients, guests and members.
• Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
