Aleph Academy in Reno, NV is seeking an on-call substitute teacher to assist in classrooms when a lead teacher is out. This part-time role supports a QRIS five-star, NAEYC-accredited preschool in a warm, collaborative environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; further ECE studies a plus.
• CPR/First Aid training and related childcare knowledge preferred.
• Background checks including fingerprinting required by Nevada laws.
• Understanding of child development, safety, and active supervision.
• Experience with diverse learners and family engagement is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, clean, and orderly classroom environment.
• Teach basic concepts like letters, numbers, hygiene, and early social skills.
• Manage routines and behavior using positive reinforcement.
• Supervise playtime, meals, bathroom breaks, and nap time.
• Support social–emotional development and collaboration with staff.
• Record observations and help document child development in Kaymbu.
• Prepare materials and assist with daily activities as needed.
• Assist with staff coordination and maintain health and safety standards.
• Follow licensing requirements and participate in ongoing training.
