Job summary

Newark Board of Education is seeking a Per Diem Plumber in the Office of Facilities Management - Project Control. The position involves general plumbing work, installation and maintenance of plumbing facilities, and leading helpers as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of plumbing experience, and a NJ driver’s license if vehicle operation is necessary. Master Plumber license substitution noted where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of plumbing experience in variety of layout and maintenance tasks.
• Driver's license valid in New Jersey if operation of a vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, maintains gas, water, and waste piping and facilities.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions and performs emergency and permanent repairs.
• Removes stoppages from piping, toilets, sinks, and other fixtures.
• Works with iron, copper piping and associated fittings and valves.
• Prepares estimates for time and materials and conducts tests on work in progress.
