Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II in Annapolis, MD, on-call. The role includes collecting specimens, data entry, and ensuring proper handling of samples according to established procedures.

Strong phlebotomy experience and ability to work weekends/on-call are required. A high school diploma is needed, with phlebotomy certification preferred; bilingual or clinical skills are a plus. This is an on-site position with opportunities for performance bonus consideration.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and using email as appropriate.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (maintenance logs, temperature logs).
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
